The Adventures of Batman & Robin for Genesis is an extremely difficult game with repetitive enemy encounters and a very unique soundtrack.
Only through memorization and dedication can one truly survive the punishment that is Contra: Hard Corps, one of the best games in the Contra series.
Often found on lists of must-play shoot ’em up games, Thunder Force III and its iterations are both accessible and challenging at the same time, making this one of the most enjoyable games in the genre.

This game has a lot of problems and yet it’s the best Spawn game to date. It has some great stuff going on but it’s marred by unbalanced characters and cheap design.
If you want to play a challenging, high speed, action game then After Burner II is for you. The only bummer about this console port is that it’s missing the awesome cockpit the arcade game was famous for.
Thunder Force III is one of the best games for players who are new to the genre or want to get into it. It won’t kick your ass after five minutes of playing and there’s plenty of diversity in the stages and weapons to keep you interested.
