Aliens: Colonial Marines is a very generic and terribly written first-person shooter. It looks, sounds, and feels like Aliens but, sadly, it is nowhere near as good as the movie or even any good FPS games. It’s functional and that’s about it.
In no way does Broforce take itself seriously. What it does do is pay respect to the action movie genre in an awesome fashion. Blast your way through thousands of bad guys, aliens, and demons, on a mission to save the world.
Resogun is a visual spectacle and an addicting shooter. It’s also one of the greatest launch titles I’ve ever played. Even with a short arcade mode, it has plenty of content to keep you busy.
Thunder Force III is one of the best games for players who are new to the genre or want to get into it. It won’t kick your ass after five minutes of playing and there’s plenty of diversity in the stages and weapons to keep you interested.
DARIUSBURST Chronicle Saviours sets a new standard for the shoot-em-up genre. If you don’t like the genre, this game won’t change your mind but for fans, DARIUSBURST delivers on content, action, and fun, even if it is a tad repetitive.
